Meet Anne-Marie Bloor
Australian Wildlife & Botanical Artist
I’m Anne-Marie Bloor, a Perth-based Australian artist creating original contemporary acrylic paintings inspired by Australia’s extraordinary wildlife, native flora and birdlife.
My work is about bringing the beauty, colour and character of the Australian landscape into the home. From the cheeky personality of a fairy wren to the striking presence of a black cockatoo, I love capturing those little details that make our wildlife so distinctive.
From Graphic Design to
Fine Art
My background in graphic design has had a strong influence on the way I approach my paintings. Composition, colour, balance and detail are all an important part of my process, helping me create artwork that feels contemporary while still celebrating the natural world.
I am a self-taught artist and work predominantly in acrylics, building each painting through multiple layers and using very fine brushes to capture the smallest details in feathers, fur and botanicals.
It’s a slow and considered process, but one I absolutely love.
Inspired by Australia
Today, my work is focused on Australian wildlife, birds and native botanicals.
Kookaburras, fairy wrens, black cockatoos, parrots, butterflies, banksias, eucalyptus and Australian wildflowers are all a constant source of inspiration.
Rather than simply painting a bird or flower, I want each artwork to have its own personality and story. Sometimes that comes through a cheeky expression or an unexpected composition; other times it is simply the feeling created by the colours and landscape.
My aim is to create artwork that makes you stop, smile and look a little closer.

I love creating large statement paintings that can completely transform a room.
My originals are designed for contemporary interiors — artwork that becomes a focal point while still feeling warm, inviting and connected to nature.
Alongside my original paintings, selected artworks are also available as limited edition fine art prints, allowing collectors to enjoy my work in a range of homes and spaces.
One of the highlights of my artistic journey has been seeing my artwork Glenda’s Afternoon Perch featured on The Block, introducing my work to an even wider Australian audience.
But one of the greatest compliments will always be knowing that one of my paintings has found its place in someone’s home.
Welcome to My Studio
Every painting begins in my Perth studio, usually with an idea, a photograph, a colour palette or simply the personality of a bird that has caught my attention.
From there, the painting gradually develops layer by layer until the character and story begin to emerge.
